You are now able to print illustrations from the new navigation bar.

Below is an example of clicking the print icon, converting the illustration into A4 printable format for you to distribute as a hard copy.

2. Choice based dropdown menus

If you have an attribute with preset choice values, they will appear as a dropdown menu. This prevents you from accidentally entering the wrong information, or making a typo in any data entry.

3. Delete individual associations

In addition to being able to delete all associations, you can now delete individual associations.

4. Progress bar for saving illustrations

When you save illustrations, you will now see a progress bar until it is saved.

5. Drag and drop boxes at a root level

You are now able to reorder boxes that exist on a "root" layer, where the boxes sit directly on top of the background of the illustration.

6. Types have been renamed to Canvases

In all buttons, fields, and labels types has been renamed to Canvases to better reflect its use.

  • When you designate a box as a canvas, you are able to export and edit the boxes that belong inside it.
  • As such, we've updated our naming convention to better reflect the feature.

7. New Undo Button

You are now able to undo your last actions on your illustration, regardless of what it may be. This new button is located in the redesigned navigation bar.

8. In cell dropdowns for Excel Exports

You are now able to use in cell dropdowns on choice based attributes when exported to Excel workbooks.

9. Hierarchy of boxes in Excel Exports

When exporting several boxes from an illustration, indents are included in box names to illustrate their layout within an illustration.

  • If one box is indented further than the one before it, it means that box is the child box of the box before it.

See below for an example.

10. Multi select when editing multiple boxes

You are now able to select several attributes and properties of boxes by selecting the checkboxes next to the field.

  • If you wish to set a particular attribute to empty, this is achievable by selecting the checkbox for that attribute and leaving the field empty.

A new default Has Smart Pages lens has been added to all illustrations, allowing you to toggle the visibility of smart pages with ease.

1. Streamlined Navigation Bar

In order to save space on your screen when building an illustration, the navigation bar has been condensed to one row, featuring:

  • Breadcrumb navigation, also known as the path to your illustration.
  • Edit Mode, Association Modes, and other illustration options
  • Hamburger menu, located on the right hand side. Contains Clients, Security, and Change Password

2. Double click to Edit Box Name

You are now able to quickly edit a box's name by double clicking the box and entering the new name.

Make sure to press enter

If you do not press Enter on your keyboard, the name will not save!

3. Ability to click Lens Group Name to Expand/Collapse

You can now click on the Name of a Lens Group in the Left Hand Menu to show or hide it, alongside the existing small triangle. This makes it easier to open lens dropdowns.

4. Full Screen Mode

You are now able to enter full screen in any illustration, by clicking the icon located on the navigation bar, second from the right.

  • To exit, press F11 on your keyboard.

5. Import an Attribute

You are now able to import attributes from other illustrations.

  • In the below example, the Risk attribute, containing the Risk lens is being imported.

Steps

  1. Find Import in the menu on the right-hand side, under Box Types, and click it.

  2. In the new menu, click Select Illustration.

  3. Click Select next to Enterprise Lens.

  4. Next, click Select next to Lens Library.

  5. Look for Lens Library 3.4, click Select, and then click OK at the bottom.

  6. On the left, click the small triangle next to Risk to open it.

  7. Tick the boxes for Risk.

  8. Tick the box that says Merge Attributes Onto Existing Type(s)? at the bottom of the menu.

  9. In the box labelled Please select, choose Projects.

6. Start in View Mode

You are now able to select Start in View Mode on the Right Hand Menu, to start an illustration in View Mode, regardless of last saved state.

7. New login screen

As part of an ongoing design refresh, the login screen has been updated to a more contemporary look and feel.

8. EULA on Login

When logging in via a new browser or device, you will be greeted with our End User License Agreement.

  • Clicking Accept acknowledges that you have read the agreement and consent to its terms.

You are now able to save an illustration at a particular story and be able to return to that same story when opening that illustration again.

2. Remember selected menus

Menus selected in the Right Hand Menu will remain turned on when you save and re enter illustrations.

3. Associations turned on by Default

With this release, associations made are turned on by default and remain on when entering an illustration.

4. Box UUID available in Edit Box menu

Clicking on any box in Edit Mode now displays its Box UUID on the top right of the Edit Box Menu. This is helpful when you are creating lenses which requires you to specify a Box's UUID.

5. Ability to turn on multiple lenses at once

You are now able to turn on multiple lenses within the same illustration.

Ensure different badges are used

In order to see all lenses at once, make sure each lens occupies a different badge number.

6. Viewer Mode

A new viewer mode which allows end users to strictly view an illustration, change stories, and turn on lenses as per what is saved by an Illustrator, for a user to view. Selecting Edit Mode does nothing.

7. Create Lens Groups

With this new release, you are now able to create Lens Groups to further categorise your lenses in an order of your choosing.

  1. Click the + Add button in the Lens Groups section in the Right Hand Menu.

  2. Enter a Name and Description (optional) for your Lens Group.

  3. Click + Add in the Lenses header of the Edit menu. Image

    1. Enter a name for the lens you are adding.
    2. Click the small triangle next to the Box Type that contains the lens.
    3. Click the checkbox next to the attribute that contains your lens. Image
  4. Click OK on all editing menus to exit.

You will be greeted with a new Lens Group under the Lenses on the Left Hand Menu, containing all your lenses to turn on and off.

8. Edit Base box

You are now able to edit all properties of the 'base' or 'background' box. This is the box that sits behind all boxes as the parent, holding every part of your illustration.

  • By default, it is invisible (transparent) and has no border radius.

9. Delete All Associations

In the Right Hand Menu, under Associations there is a new Delete All button, which deletes every single association within that illustration.

10. Expanded Badges from 8 to 32

You can now create up to 32 badges per box type, this is an increase of 24 badges compared to the former limit of 8.

  • In the Edit Render Function menu, you can Set Box Badges up to 32. 13
  • In JSON you can also specify up to badge32. 14
